The ISU Adult Working Group is an official working group appointed by the head of the International Skating Union, Ottavio Cinquanta. The ISU is the international governing body for competitive ice skating disciplines including figure skating, synchronized skating and speed skating.
Founded in 2004, the ISU Adult Working Group is headed by Rhea Schwartz from the USA. Other Adult Working Group members include Diana Barkley from Canada, John Fisher from the United Kingdom and Ville Penttinen from Finland.
All members are adult figure skaters. They are volunteers committed to fulfill their mandate to promote adult figure skating internationally for competitors and others and to create a world-wide community united in its passion for adult skating. They do not receive any payment or expenses for their time and expertise.
Each year, the Working Group invites feedback from competitors at the ISU Adult Figure Skating Competition. Based on this input and their own observations, they provide their recommendations to the ISU for consideration regarding the next annual adult competition.
